The car was broken into and a wheel, umbrella, clothes and a wet-suit were stolen.

Windburg Road - Thursday at 14:00
A DPVwatch member received a phone call from a member that a car was being broken into outsider her house. The member immediately alerted the radio network and rushed to the scene. When members arrived the suspect had left but the witness was able to give a very good clothing description. The members searched the area and the suspect was seen leaving Pypies Square. With the assistance of SAPS the suspect was arrested.

The garage door at the block of flats was tampered with to gain access. Items stolen include tools, mountain bikes, motorbike helmets and biker leathers.

The lock on the car was tampered with to get in. The car was ransacked but only a jacket and tissues were stolen. The suspect left a cigarette butt behind.

A resident heard noises in the garden and saw a man sneaking around the house. When he realized he had been spotted he jumped back over the wall and ran away.

An intruder entered the property and looked around for any opportunities. One of the cars was unlocked and he went into the vehicle but there was nothing in there to be stolen.

Access was gained by forcing the main bedroom window open which had no burglar bars. Two Galaxy tablets were taken as well as an undisclosed amount of Euro coins. The alarm was activated in ‘stay home’ mode during the night.

Peppertree Crescent - Friday 00:00 - 06:00
The garage door was bent open by being the hinge mechanism. The electric motor was pushed back and the rail of the opening mechanism ripped from its fixing point to the roof beam and the roof beam shattered into several pieces. The external board above the door was also damaged. A large black Samsonite suitcase with spare parts was stolen.
This suitcase and its contents were found later in the day on the mountain slope by a resident of Pinetree Road.

The suspect accessed the property via the front gate and door which had been left unlocked. A cellphone and other items were stolen.

Two men in a white Hyundai H100 vehicle with registration CA 777 197 attempted to steal a scooter. A resident woke up, switched on his lights and the suspects ran off.

Aloe Street - Monday at 02:15
The suspected jumped over a low wall in the lane to High Cape. He smashed the drivers window to get to what looked like a cell phone between the seats. It was actually a notebook!

Theft from property - ARREST

Bedford Road - Thursday at 13:48
A resident of Bedford Mews, was at home and heard a sound of a security gate rattling on Bedford Street. The resident investigated and saw a black male climbing over the gate into a property. He immediately called a friend who is a DPVwatch member who alerted the radio network. 5 DPV watch members responded immediately and flooded the area, manning key points around Chelsea Ave, Mill Street, Bedford Street and Upper Maynard. The suspect was then spotted on the property at Bedford Street but he ran from the back of the property. He was then seen climbing the wall into the Millborough Court gardens. The DPV member manning Chelsea Avenue saw a man matching that description walking across the Good Hope Seminary School fields towards the gate. Two DPV responders then moved around to the school’s main gate, while another followed across the field. The suspect jumped the wall at the main gate, and was immediately apprehended by the two members waiting on Vredehoek Avenue.
SAPS arrived and searched the man who was found in possession of 6 stolen watches. Another watch was discovered on the property in Bedford Road.
