Arrest

Kreupelhout Road - Friday at 15h00
One of our members happened to look out of her window in Kreupelhout Avenue and noticed a suspicious white MG drive to the end of her road and reverse into a driveway. A man got out of the vehicle and rang the door bell. Everything about their actions was exactly as we have previously illustrated with regards to the notorious crowbar gangs. She put it out on the radio and many members raced out of their homes to assist along with SAPS. The vehicle then looped around Pinoak, Chelmsford and headed up to the Deer Park Parking lot.

The occupants realised that they were being followed and attempted to flee. In their haste and during their attempt to escape, they hit a pavement which caused their front wheel to blow out. In their panic they started throwing all their house break –in tools out of the windows. Despite this they raced down Derry to flee the area, with smoke and sparks coming from their damaged wheel. They realised they could not get away and when they were outside the CitiVet they abandoned their vehicle, still running, and fled across towards Wembley Square.

DPVwatch members followed them on foot towards Wembley Square while keeping in contact with each other and SAPS. Eventually, thanks to sharp eyes on the street, two of these suspects were arrested and positively identified.

WELL DONE to everyone involved. A crime was averted and two suspects were arrested thanks to our strong radio network and the willingness of our members to assist one another at the drop of a hat.
