A black BMW, registration CA 380 035, with four armed occupants stopped on Upper Buitenkant and mugged a woman. They then escaped in the vehicle. Stolen items included two Samsung phones and cash

The residents spotted a suspect in their garden who had gained access via their neighbour’s roof on the Pypies Plein side. The suspect fled after being spotted. ADT responded and searched, but could not locate the suspect. Nothing was stolen.

An intruder with backpack jumped a tall wall into property on Pypies Plein. Fortunately home owner saw this happen and the intruder Jumped wall again out of the property and ran away.

The complainant has had an intruder enter her premises three times. On the first night (19th), her washing drying rack was stolen, the second time, nothing was taken, but there were signs of entry (the plants were damaged) and the third time, (24th) her garden chairs and implements were taken.

A silver VW Jetta pulled up next to a woman walking. The passenger got out of the vehicle and snatched her bag. He then climbed back into the vehicle and they drove away.

The complainant’s dogs started baring which woke him up. He heard a noise in one of the rooms in the house and pressed his panic button. ADT responded and checked the room with the resident. They found that the window to that room was open and that a grey Samsung phone had been stolen.

The CBAR monitoring centre received multiple panics from the premises. Armed Response was dispatched and on arrival, reported a suspect had entered the premises via an open back door. He had walked past the client, taken a Samsung cell phone and run off.

A suspect stole a wooden chair from a property’s veranda and attempted to hide it in the neighbour’s garden when he realised he had been spotted before walking away.

Chelsea Avenue - Wednesday - 13:00
DPVwatch was informed that vagrants were spotted entering the the Good Hope Seminary School from Chelsea Avenue. Members walked along the fence inside the premises and found a “hide out” that was very well camouflaged with two males living inside it. SAPS were contacted and during a search, drug paraphernalia, weapons and bank cards from multiple owners were found.
Both suspects were arrested.

The complainant exited a property on Rugley Road. A Silver VW Polo with a roof rack pulled up next to her and a chubby male exited from the passenger side of the vehicle and attempted to steal her handbag. He knocked her over and got away in the vehicle with a pair of sunglasses.

The culprits parked next to the complainant’s bakkie, two suspects must have got out and then stolen the spare wheel from underneath the vehicle. The complainant was woken up from the noise of his car shaking and looked out the window to see two suspects sneak out from underneath and next to his bakkie. They then sped off in a bakkie.
At least three people in an old white bakkie with a canopy. Two in the front and one in the back.

The complainant was woken at 4:00 with the car alarm going off. When they looked out of the window and there was nobody to be seen but when they went down to the car, the front passenger door was ajar. The cubby hole was locked and nothing had been taken. They assume that the burglar was interrupted by the car alarm

The complainant was walking along Vredehoek Avenue when they were approached by an unknown male and threatened at knife point. The suspect stole the complainant’s bag. Thank you to Constable Jobela for making the arrest.
The suspect was arrested by SAPS.

A white Yamaha big wheel scooter (CA 918440) with a black “4” sticker on the front of the bike was stolen. It has two slick tyres (Michelin boppers) and the back wheel has lost a lot of grip.
At about 05:30, a member noticed three men driving a white Volkswagen Polo CA 400 778 who had stopped at the end of Clive Street and were fiddling (possibly trying to hot-wire) a scooter. They left without the scooter and it was recovered.

Pine Avenue - Tuesday - At about 04:00
The complainant’s dog, who sleeps inside, woke them up and insisted on going out. He tore around the property and took a while before he calmed down. The next morning, they discovered that the cellar door (which is always bolted shut) was wide open, they also discovered that an intruder got into the garage and rifled through both cubby holes of the cars. Nothing was stolen. The intruder escaped over the roof. Next morning the complainant heard that their neighbour’s had heard an intruder on their own balcony prior to the event at the complainant’s house.

A resident heard a person breaking into their neighbour’s car parked outside their block. He disturbed him and the suspect ran away but he had already broken the window. Nothing was stolen. SAPS was called after the incident but they could not find the suspect.

Two suspects attempted to break into a property. SAPS was called and the suspects were arrested. Well done to Constable Tolobisa for his prompt response.

A resident heard a noise and looked out the window to see a man sitting in his car going through its contents. He alerted a DPVwatch member who assisted in apprehending the man. SAPS were called on the radio and he was arrested. He had broken the car window with a spark plug.

Pinetree Crescent - Tuesday - Between 06:00 and 18:00
Sometime in the morning the garden furniture was stolen from the balcony. The suspect would have had to jump over the fence/wall to access. Later in the day a DPVwatch member saw a man walking towards Woodstock on Searle Street in possession of a black fold up table. It was confirmed later that this was the stolen table.

Deer Park - Tuesday - 08:10
In the Deer Park parking area. The car was parked and the occupant went onto the mountain while his mother stayed with the car. She strolled away from the car for about 10 minutes and came back and saw the car had been broken into. The suspect was seen and he was wearing a luminous green jacket and ran down past the river towards Van Riebeeck Park. A black handbag was stolen.

Chelsea Avenue - Tuesday - Between 07:30 and 11:30
The home owner came home at 11h30 and found her front shutters and window had been broken to gain access to her home, her dogs were barking inside the house, she sensed the intruder was still inside, she left the house to put her dogs in the car and while she was sorting them out the intruder left the house. He had defecated on the bedroom floor of the room he broke into. At this stage only a bracelet is missing. Forensics have taken fingerprints. The house was not alarmed.

The complainant was walking along Upper Mill Street and noticed two males sitting on the pavement. As she drew nearer, they got up and approached her. One suspect held a knife to her stomach while the other cut the strap of her handbag. Both suspects ran away. A bystander managed to retrieve her handbag, but her wallet was missing.
