Access gained to property from mountain side by cutting through Clearvu fencing and bending palisade supports. Suspect crawled slowly across patio to avoid beams and removed window pane to get into house. Crawled out with TV.

Intruders broke into the house from the mountain. Residents triggered the alarm before locking themselves in the main bedroom. Suspects stole a Dell laptop and various other items. Thank you to members, ADT, CBar and SAPS who responded immediately.

Upper Buitenkant Street – Thursday, at 22:25
A person on the street was robbed by a group of men who were in a Mazda 323. A witness called for assistance and the vehicle was stopped by armed response corner of Jutland and Aandbloem Street. Law enforcement officers assisted. Four suspects fled on foot; one suspect was taken into custody by SAPS.

Pinetree Crescent – Thursday, time unknown
Resident in process of moving out so not living there and therefore exact time of break-in unknown. She returned to pack the last of her things and saw the kitchen window and the sliding door at the back, i.e. on the mountain side of the property had been broken open. A few random items were stolen. It seems that the alarm was not set.

A slender male was spotted on a first-floor balcony trying to break into a house. The neighbour shouted at him, and the man then jumped onto the wall, down into the street and ran away. He was wearing a black top with white Billabong lettering, and dark pants. His female look-out left down Anenome Street. She was wearing a bright blue top. Members who responded could not find him.

Delphinium Road – Tuesday, at 02:30
The front door CCTV alarm sounded and a person was seen walking past the front door down the side of the house where he was for about a minute. He made a gesture to a person sitting on the pavement opposite the house observing, and then left the property. When the person on the pavement was asked what he wanted, he got up and walked away. SAPS responded immediately. They arrested the men with another person in Freesia Avenue and they will be charged with attempted house break-in. The man who came on to the property was tall and thin, wearing medium grey pants and jacket and black tackies. The observer was of medium build with red pants, khaki top and a cap.

Owners were home. The suspect climbed over the property wall and managed to push back the burger bars and remove the windows to enter the home. The owners heard the suspect moving around in the home and called SAPS. Officers arrived within 5 minutes, entered the property and arrested the suspect in the home. Several electronic items were found in his possession.

Suspect jumped over a fence into the front garden to gain access to a vehicle and stole items from a car parked behind a closed garage door. They then proceeded to the back yard where they stole keys from the basement. It is possible that they were scared away by the owner’s dogs.

The owner left his flat on the ground floor at 03:00. At 03:45 a window was broken and someone had managed to climb through the burglar bars. A laptop, cash, watch and necklace were taken. Items such as shoes and a speaker were lined up but it was not taken.

A suspect was chased away by the owner of a bakkie when he tried to open the canopy with a screwdriver. The tip of the screwdriver was found next to the vehicle the following morning. The same person had probably also damaged the door lock of the neighbour’s vehicle.
