Upon hearing vehicle alarm victim went out to inspect. He found the small back left window of vehicle broken, the cover from under the steering wheel was removed and the aircon vent cover on the passenger side was removed, most likely in an attempt to hotwire the car. Nothing was taken. DPV were notified and a patrol member was on the scene within a few minutes. The suspect accomplice vehicle was identified on the LPR camera system.

The surveillance camera recorded the intruder entering one property. The intruder skillfully maneuvered to another properly, avoiding triggering alarm beams by using a neighbouring property’s washing line to climb onto their roof and continued across to the resident’s side of the roof. The resident triggered the alarm system and alerted authorities. Nearby residents witnessed an intruder fleeing down the street.

Victim was walking down Van Ryneveld Avenue towards Philip Khosana Drive. A vehicle drove up at high speed with the back seat passenger trying to accost the victim. The victim ran up and down the road screaming with the vehicle following. The suspect were chased away by another vehicle.
