Robbery - house break in

Rocklands Avenue - Friday - 01:40
Intruders broke a window, removed the burglar bars to gain entry to the house. The owner was tied up and the suspects demanded goods including cash and firearms. The two suspects took his laptop, computer, wallet with bank cards, cash, passports, ID books, house and car keys and left with his car, a VW Jetta. Suspects were two black males carrying knives.

Peak View complex - Gorge Street - Wednesday - 17:00
An intruder was spotted on the balcony of flat no 12 breaking burglar bars to gain access into flat. This is the 5th such robbery in the last couple of months in this block . The suspect was on the balcony talking on cell phone while we waited for ADT neighbourhood watch/police to arrive. The suspect then, while being watched broke bars and entered the flat. The police & neighbourhood watch climbed into flat but suspect had broken the security gate lock and escaped down the stairs into the adjacent property and was seen climbing over their security fence and running down Upper Buitenkant Street. Suspect was a coloured male - bald slight build 30-40 years old brown pants black top wearing green gardening gloves.

A customer left an iPhone on the counter at Kwikspar and when they went back to get it, it had been stolen.

A window was forced open and computer equipment, a panim press, blender and electric guitar were stolen.

Robbery - ARREST

Freesia Avenue - Thursday - Between 14:20 and 14:35
A woman was walking to work and she saw a man watching her across the road. He came up behind her and grabbed her, threatening her with a knife. He demanded her cellphone and wanted her to come with him, but she refused and he left. She ran to work and reported the incident. Her manager called DPVwatch who immediately put out a radio alert and members ran out to assist.
Because of the good description members were able to spot the man in the fields below De Waal Drive. Initially it was thought that he had managed to escape under eastern Boulevard but SAPS spotted him and he was arrested. The victim positively identified him and the stolen cellphone was later discovered hidden in his clothing!
