The gate of the apartment had been jammed. The resident opened the door to find the intruder trying to force the gate open.

Lambert Road – Friday, 18:00 – 00:00
An attempt was made to use a crowbar to enter the gate on the street. The perpetrators must have jumped over the wall and broke open some of the lower bars of the security gate with a crowbar as well as the front door. A large screen Sony TV, Apple TV, Bose woofer and speaker, and a Bosch rechargeable lamp were taken. A greenish duvet cover and towels, presumably to wrap the TV in, was also taken. The neighbour noticed a white car parked outside the house earlier in the day and again later.

Two suspects mugged a domestic worker waiting at the front gate of residence. Suspects came from the mountain. Camera surveillance was provide. Unknown what was taken.

A man was picked up on camera trying car doors on Seymour Ave. He was later seen on St James. DPV patroller radioed SAPS who searched the suspect and found stolen items in his possession.

Mellish Road – Saturday, 22:35
A loud noise at the front of the house. On investigation by the resident two people were seen outside the front door. The resident screamed at them. The door was open with the chain on, perpetrator stuck a hand through the door and sprayed pepper spray into the entrance hall. Both perpetrators turned and ran away. A white bakkie, seemed double cab size, was seen driving down the road. The padlocks on the gate at the front door, and the top of the stairs, as well as the gate onto the street had been broken. The camera had been pushed up to face the sky. SAPS and DPV watch arrived on the scene.

Residents came home and disturbed intruders on the property. On entering they saw a large hole in their ceiling. DPV Watch members responded and searched the property.

The electric fence was cut, electricity was switched off and the suspects broke in via the back door. Inside they ripped off alarm equipment and ransacked the property. The radio aerial was disconnected through the roof by removing the tiles to stop the signal from reaching the security company.
