Chelmsford Road - Thursday at 15:30
Two school children were walking home from Herzlia when they were approached by two men. Both men were smartly dressed in jeans and one was wearing sunglasses. They threatened the boys with a knife and stole a cellphone. They ran off down the steps onto Wexford Road.

Buitenkant Road - Thursday between 23:00 & 01:00
The resident woke up and saw that somebody had forced their way into his house and the electric fencing was damaged. They stolen R2000 worth of meat and 14 blocks of butter valued at R500.

The house was broken into and computer equipment stolen.

Escombe Road - Thursday during the day
Bedding was stolen from a bed through an open window on the first floor of a block of flats. The window had burglar bars but the thief still managed to steal a king-sized duvet in broad daylight. The incident happened before 3pm. The window was found to be forced wide open and the curtain had been tied to the side of the burglar bars. A long stick (probably used to reach the bed, which was in the middle of the room) was found on the stairs next to the window.

Corner Bradwell and Florida Road - Wednesday at 18:30
A resident returned home and parked outside her garage. She was approached by two coloured males who grabbed a black bag which only contained cycling shoes.

Mugging, Deer Park Drive

A man walking down from Deer Park was attacked by two coloured males who came from behind and took his bag, stealing his camera.

Peppertree Road - Friday at 01:00
A woman was returning home and she was approached from behind by a coloured mail who was apparently wearing brown clothing and three-quarter length trousers. He threatened he and stole her cellphone, jewellery and bank cards. He also demanded that she give him her ATM pin code which she did.

Deer Park Drive - between 23:35 & 00:41 Wednesday
The restaurant was broken into. The suspects made off with a flat screen TV, laptop, some CDs and alcohol to the value of R13 000.

Chelmsford Road - Tuesday between 00:00 & 06:00
Thieves tried to steal a Toyota Corolla. They tampered with the lock and pushed the car down the road but eventually gave up and the car was abandoned.

Seymour Avenue - Monday at 20:15
A resident went into her kitchen to find a man had come into the house through the back open door. He had grabbed 2 cellphones and was trying to make a run for it. She chased after him and was able to stop him briefly but neighbours did not come to her assistance. He got away and she screamed for help and a DPVwatch radio holder living near by heard this, responded and put the information onto the radio network. THe suspect was seen running down Buitenkant and within 3 minutes the area was flooded by at least 15 radio holders and SAPS who chased the suspect and apprehended him. Both phones were recovered.
Awesome work by all and it shows that if the info can get out there straight away arrests and recovery of stolen property is very possible! Thanks to all who dropped everything and came running!

The resident woke up to a noise in his house and saw a man there. He shouted and the man ran off but managed to steal a LG laptop, iPad, Macbook and a DVD player.

The car wind of a Blue Polo was smashed but nothing was stolen. The next night two guys walking down the road had a look into the broken window to see if there was anything to steal and they reactivated the alarm. Those two were arrested as DPVwatch patrollers were on the scene and monitoring them.

The car was broken into for the second time but nothing was stolen. Both times it occurred on very windy nights and it is possibly related to vandalism.

Somebody tried to steal the hose pipe and reel by smashing a break into the chain securing it to the wall. It had been stolen on previous occasions so was usually stored inside.

The residents had a party and went to bed and made sure everything was locked. When they woke up they discovered that the house had been ransacked and items stolen included 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, Mac and a hard drive.

Rugley Road - Sunday at 21:30
A overseas visitor was returning to his friends house. He saw an old blue hatchback car drive past him then do a U-Turn and come back. As he got to the gate the two occupants of the car came out and threatened him with a knife. They stole his bag which contained his passports, wallet, phone, iPad etc.

The security guard left the construction site to go to the shop. He saw a suspicious man hanging around at the time. When he got back 45 minutes later items had been stolen.

The resident locked her home and went out of town for the day. She came home to find that she had been burgled but there was no forced entry. Items stolen include a watch valued at R28 000, DVD player, purple camera and 3 bottle of alcohol.

A women in a wheelchair was accosted by a man who tried to mug her. He did not manage to get away with anything. The suspect was in a blue/green metallic Polo. He was a black South African male, thin wearing a horizontally stripped hoodie.

The suspect broke the window to gain access to the property. The resident was woken by the noise and screamed which scared the suspect off. He grabbed a iPad and ran out.

Garden chairs were stolen from the property over 2 nights. On the third night a neighbour saw a man jumping over the wall but shouted out to him and he ran away.

The suspect entered the property from the back through a construction site. He entered into the a garage and was trying to steal tool when the resident spotted him and gave chase. The suspect ran and dropped the tools a short way from the house.
