Four wheels were stolen from a Toyota Conquest and the car was left up on rocks.

Derry Street, Monday between 00 and 06:00.
White CFM Opel Cadet had the front passenger window smashed and, according to owner, nothing taken. Lots of items were still in the car. (e.g. sunglasses, car radio, jumper cables on back seat.) It is possible that suspect was disturbed.

Robbery - Street Mugging

Aandbloem Street, Sunday at 06:00.
A woman was walking to work at Nazareth House and was followed by two men from the Wembley Square field. She knew she was being followed by them, so when she got to the building site on the corner of Aandbloem and Chelsea, she threw her cellphone over the fence so they could not get it. They stopped her and stole the money that she had on her. The security guard at the building site came out and the men ran away. He helped the victim find her phone.

Upper Mill Street, Thursday between 13:00 and 16:00.
A red gym bag with white stripes was stolen out of a vehicle parked in Upper Mill Street near Bedford Street.
A coloured man and woman in grey coats were seen in the vicinity and were thought to be the culprits. They went in the direction of the Wembley Square field but could not be found by DPV members.

The kitchen window lock was broken and access gained to the house. Three watches and a cellphone were stolen.

The battery was stolen out of a Bantam bakkie (the same vehicle targeted a couple of nights before.)

A Blue Mazda 323 was stolen. Registration CA 158847.

Sometime between 27 June and 20 July a Vuka motor cycle (Registration CA 790913) parked on the street was stolen.
Reported to SAPS.

Theft from Property

Pine Avenue, Thursday between 00:00 and 06:00.
The intruders climbed over the fence to gain entry onto the property.
The window frame was removed and the glass taken out to gain entry into the house.
A hard drive and two laptops stolen. They cut a hole into the fence, to pass the stolen goods through the hole.

The car door of a Ford Bantam bakkie was bent open and the radio was stolen

Exner Avenue, Sunday between 00:00 and 06:00.
Sometime between 14 and 19 July, while the resident was away, a flat on Exner Road was broken into. The resident had forgotten to lock the security gate on the back door. A glass pane in the door was broken and the door was then unlocked. Two gold medals were stolen.

Attempted Theft From Vehicle

Escombe Road, Saturday between 00:00 and 06:00.
A Chev Aveo parked on the pavement in Escombe Road was tampered with. An attempt was made to open the bonnet. The catch holding the bonnet closed was damaged. The owner of the car discovered the problem while on the way to work on Monday morning. (It is surmised that the culprit was wanting to steal the battery.)

Attempted Theft from Property

Derry Street, Saturday at 03:20.

At 3.20 on Saturday morning, ADT received a signal from Derry Street Spar, a customer of both CBAR and ADT. When ADT arrived on scene, they became aware that there was still a suspect in the premises. Entrance was apparently gained through the back of the shop and the suspect went through the shop disabling every camera as he moved through the shop.
The suspect fled out the back of the shop and is still at large.

Reported to SAPS — no details on suspects yet.

Attempted Theft from Property 2

Bellair Road, Friday at 03:15.
Two black men jumped over the neighbour’s gate and from there into the property. The resident chased them away and they ran over the poolroof and into the neighbour’s property.

Frank Avenue, Friday at 04:00.
The resident awoke as her alarm was activated but she assumed that it was another false alarm and deactivated it. She went though to look around the house and discovered that a window was open an a man was crouching below it. She screamed and ran away to press the panic button and grab her DPVwatch radio. The man jumped out the window and ran away. DPVwatch members responded within minutes but the suspect(s) had fled onto the mountain and had stolen a TV.

Attempted Theft from Property

Frank Avenue, Friday at 03:20.
The dog barked and woke the residents. The husband went donwnstairs to check and even opened the back door (but not the security gate!) for the dog which wouldn’t go out. He didn’t notice anything suspicious so he went back to bed at 03.20.
At 4.00 am he woke up with the neighbour’s alarm going off and the neighbour shouting. She’d surprised a burglar disappearing out of a window with her TV. The burglars had removed a window pane from an aluminium frame to gain access. Via radio we called DPV and CBAR and RC.
The residents only came back home after 10am. Sometime after that, they noticed their side gate was open and went to investigate. They discovered that the burglar had removed their window pane too but must have been disturbed by their dog.

Pinetree Crescent, Thursday at 02:00.
At 02:00 am, the resident heard noises downstairs. An African male was attempting to lever open an aluminium window frame. On hearing shouts, the suspect jumped over the fence and ran away.
This incident has not been reported to SAPS.

Robbery - Street Mugging

Exner Avenue, Wednesday at 22:30.
A friend staying at the resident’s flat was mugged outside the block by 2 men. Her cellphone and bag were stolen.

Bellair Road - Sometime between the 10th July & 2nd September
The burglar bars on the flat were bent back to allow access. Nothing was stolen.

House Robbery

Exner Avenue, Tuesday at 04:00.
The intruder gained access through a window. He threatened the victim with a knife and stole the computer along with other items.
The suspect was wearing a beanie, white pants and a striped top.
Reported to SAPS.

Another Canopy was stolen from a White Chev / Corsa Bakkie.

Four wooden outdoors chairs were stolen from the balcony. The suspects gained access to the property from Acorn Road.

The wheels were stolen from a Golf. The thief was disturbed by the residents who awoke to a noise. He fled on foot up the road, leaving the tyres behind.

A canopy was stolen from a Bantam Bakkie.

Deer Park Drive, Wednesday at 18:35
Security Guard was tied up and items stolen from the property. We are awaiting details of what was stolen.
The suspects drove a white 1 ton Nissan Bakkie with one tail light not working and the tailgate was open. There were 2 coloured men in the front of the vehicle and 4 men sitting on the back. The bakkie had been seen scouting the area earlier during the day.

An elderly couple were about to enter the church property when they were approached by a tall coloured male wearing a white hoodie. He threatened them with a knife. Awaiting details on what was stolen.

Attempted theft from property

Vredehoek Avenue, Wednesday at midday
Two coloured males smashed the glass front door of one of one of the flats. Someone else in the building heard the noise and went to investigate. When the suspects realised that they had been detected they fled. The one man ran away on foot while the second jumped into a white Audi A3 with a CA registration number. The car sped up Vredehoek Avenue and into Chelsea. The Audi knocked the side mirror of a parked bakkie as they fled and the owner tried to chase after the Audi but lost them.
