SAPS was alerted to three men attempting to break into vehicles. They arrived on the scene and the men fled in all directions. Back up was called and officers had to check gardens and streets as these men tried to hide and escape. SAPS managed to arrest two suspects. Well done SAPS!!!

Residents possibly left front door open as there was no sign of forced entry. When they woke up they found the door open and their television, cell phone, hearing aid and handbag missing. Some of the items were in the bedroom.

Rocklands Avenue - Saturday, at 19:00
Two men broke into a house. The neighbour across the road heard glass break as well as the house alarm. She kept an eye on the house as she knew the owner wasn’t at home. After a while the garage door opened and she saw a car with a GP number plate and a stranger. The car reversed and she tried to stop it to question the driver, but it sped off. SAPS and security arrived at the house and found that the men had started preparing televisions and electronics to load into the car, but must have realized that the neighbour was watching them. Unsure if she had called SAPS they decided to leave. They had cut some wires prior to breaking into the house, because the security company did not receive an alarm signal from the house.

House robbery
Frank Avenue - Monday, 18 November 2019, at 04:00
The exterior beam alarms were triggered at 02:00 and security came to inspect. They couldn’t find anybody on the property and left. At 04:00 the alarm was triggered again and this time three masked suspects had managed to get past the beams outside, broke through a Trellidor and wooden door to the kitchen. By the time the owner stepped into the kitchen they were already inside and when the security provider called they threatened her with a knife to acknowledge that all was in order. They took televisions and electronic equipment and left towards the mountain in the same direction as they came. The owner suspects there were two more men outside.

A man attempted to rob a woman in the street in front of her house. Residents came to her assistance after hearing her screaming and the suspect ran across to Stroompie. DPV Members waited for SAPS to arrive so that they could search for the man. The suspect could not be found. The woman wasn’t harmed and nothing was stolen. Thank you to CBAR and ADT for their assistance.
