Davenport Road - Wednesday, at about 13:45
Two men rang the bell of an apartment and when the resident, who was home, did not respond they proceeded to attempt to break in through the front security gate. The resident called out and then heard the suspects running away. He gave chase but they escaped in a white sedan of unknown make and model.

Unknown persons gained entry to an apartment block and forced open the security gate and front door to an apartment. A small Toshiba webbook and charger, along with a 500G harddrive and a Thule laptop backpack were stolen.

Gardenia Avenue - Friday, at about 08:00
Residents noticed a man and woman sitting across from their house. They were dressed in neat clothes, had a cellphone expensive sneakers. When the residents husband left for work, the man was sitting on his passenger seat of his car (the car was locked before so not sure how they gained entrance). They scratched in the boot, and all the contents of the cubby hole was on the floor. Only ate 2 chocolates, there wasn’t anything for them to take. The husband phoned the police and when they arrived 5 mins later the man and woman ran off- not yet caught.

House Robbery

Exner Avenue - Thursday, at about 03:30
A suspect gained entry to a home through an open window. A resident woke up to find the suspect in his room and he was then threatened with a knife. The suspect stole a laptop, a cellphone and jewelry before being frightened off by other residents of the apartment.

Three residents were walking home from the Orange Street Engen when a suspect grabbed a ladies handbag from behind and ran over Jutland Avenue to a waiting vehicle. Unconfirmed reports say that it was a white VW Citi Golf. The handbag contained two iPhone 6’s and two wallets.

Two suspects gained entry to a garage and stole power tools. DPV was notified and responded and one of the suspects was arrested on site. The other suspect managed to flee.

Davenport Road - Sunday, between 00:00 and 06:00
A GOMOTO Yesterday SI (name of model) was stolen in the early hours of the morning out of the front yard of an apartment block. The gates were closed and gate jamming is suspected. The neighbors downstairs heard the dogs barking around 5 am , yet they usually bark at everything and so it was not given much attention . When a resident went down to go to work on Sunday morning, he immediately noticed that our scooter was stolen. The case has been reported to SAPS and engine nr. Etc have been taken up. It is cream / yellow in colour and the original GOMOTO branding / stickers were removed by the previous owners on the sides and front of the motorbike . This is a good way to recognize the bike if found again, as slight outlines of the stickers can still be noticed.

Barnham Avenue - Friday, at about 16:00
Entrance was gained to an apartment block and then the suspects went to the second floor where they crow barred a security gate, and the window with perspex window guards on them. The suspects then went through the entire flat, taking small items such as iPads and laptops, there were TV’s left behind. They then proceeded to drink a beer from the fridge and leave it behind. To exit, they crow barred the front door open and another security gate.

Upper Mill Street - Thursday, between 00:00 and 06:00
At 05.50 a neighbour from across the street sent a message to a resident say that he saw someone jump the fence of Derry Court. He shouted at him and the suspect ran off. At 07:00 a downstairs neighbour reported she had woken up to find her TV and handbag missing. Suspected entrance via the balcony door which does not always lock properly. Still, a tricky climb even for one person standing on another’s shoulder. A resident wandered around the garden and found the TV screen wrapped in a blanket stashed in the bushes inside the complex.

Windburg Avenue - Thursday, at about 17:55
The complainant was about to take a photo of the mountain when a red scooter with two males in their mid-twenties stopped next to her and threatened her with firearms. They stole her cellphone before escaping via Barnham Avenue.
