The Spanish burglar bars were first removed from outside a first floor window and then a window pane was removed. Further details of the break-in are not available.

Clifford Avenue - Friday, at 02:00
Three intruders entered the property and triggered the outside beam and security light in front garden. They had been hiding behind the palm tree opposite the entrance. At 01:58 they scaled the aluminium fence, dropped down into the shrubs and leopard crawled through the garden plants to avoid being detected by the alarm outdoor IR movement sensor. However the security light IR motion detector detected the presence of intruder and spot light was activated and they turned back. The first intruder crawled back and the second intruder adopted a more upright posture triggering the house alarm IR motion detector. They jumped back over the fence, same place as they entered. After viewing CCTV footage it was established that they had been hiding behind the palm tree while CBAR inspected the property.

A female tourist was attacked by two men in the area behind Mountain Close on the mountain. The one hit her with a brick. Her screams alerted other residents and the men fled in different directions. The one man went down Derry Street where he as apprehended by a DPV member after a description was posted to the crime group and it was announced on the radio network. SAPS arrested the man.

Two men jumped out of a vehicle and wrestled a woman walking down the street to the ground in an attempt to steal her phone. Residents were alerted by her screams and the men only took her head phones before getting back into the vehicle and leaving. The men were arrested the following day after the licence plate number was shared.
