Armed response was dispatched to property and found that the two male suspects had gained access via the children’s bedroom window. Some clothing and school items were taken.

A pedestrian was accosted by a man who pulled out a pocketknife and grabbed her bag. The pedestrian managed to get away unharmed with her bag.

The perpetrator gained entry by lifting the gate off its rail and then forcing garage door. Was interrupted and deterred by alarm beam going off.

A student was walking up Upper Mill street confronted by two men. One took out an firearm while the other put his hand in the jacket and asked for her cellphone. She screamed and managed to run away.

Vredehoek Avenue – Thursday, 09:30
Three young men (possibly high school learners: two were wearing grey school pants) followed the young woman, who was walking her baby, down the road, and one of them demanded her phone. She threw her phone at him and they ran off in the direction of Chelsea Ave. A car and a taxi gave chase. When the youngsters realised they were being followed they dumped the phone, which was picked up in Aandbloem Road. One of the men was arrested in Roeland Street and SAPS found a toy gun in his possession.

A cyclist rode into a cul de sac to meet his cycling companion. An aggressive man followed him, pulled out a knife and took the bicycle by force. He rode away down Upper Mill street towards the MyCity bus stop.

There was an attempted mugging of a Butlers delivery man at the corner of Luton and Upper Mill Streets. The assailant was armed with a knife.

Three men armed with a knife attempted to steal a cellphone. The resident threw his phone into a nearby property. Camera footage was shared with SAPS resulting in two of the men being apprehended.
