A White mazda sting was stolen.

Suspect entered property via kitchen window and stole the DSTV.

Attempted theft of vehicle

Arum Street - Saturday at 05:00
Two young black or coloured males tried to steel a scooter out of the driveway. They broke the gate open to access the property. They broke the steering lock. However just before they could leave with the scooter the neighbour was disturbed by the commotion and came out and the suspects ran away.

Rocklands Avenue - Thursday between 00:00 & 06:00
The suspects accessed the house by forcing open the burglar bars, possibly with a car jack.
They then went through the ground floor of the house and stole numerous items including a laptop, hard drives, video camera, handbag (with wallet etc), iPhone, iPad and more.
The residents were home and sleeping at the time.

St James Street - Wednesday at 04:30
The resident woke up to let her cat out. When she got into the lounge and opened the curtain she saw two men on her balcony. She hit on the glass and they ran away. They had already removed two sides of the window pane in an attempt to gain access.

Deer Park Drive - Wednesday at 17:30
A bakkie parked just outside the entrance to Deer Park was broken into - the driver’s window was smashed. A man in a white, long-sleeved T-Shirt and blue jeans had been seen in the Park shortly before the incident. Approximatly 45min-1 hour later, a resident saw a man fitting the description hiding in the bushes on the mountain behind Mountain Close. The information was promptly put out on DPV’s radio network. SAPS and neighbourhood watch members responded and the man went to ground in an overgrown gully behind Disa Park. An excellent search was conducted and the man was arrested. The culprit is known to SAPS and the NW as he has been arrested for similar crimes in the past.

The window of the car was smashed and a wallet and Blackberry was stolen.

Clifford Road - Monday between 00:00 & 06:00
The car which was parked on the property behind a fence was broken into. A school bag was stolen containing books and an Ipad.

St James - Monday during the day
Suspects accessed the grounds of the building and then forced open the bathroom window to the flat. A computer and jewellery was stolen.

Derry Street - Monday at 03:08
A resident was woken by his home alarm but thought it was a false alarm. The next morning he realised that somebody had been inside his car which was parked on the property behind a high wall. The suspect must have activated the exterior alarm beam. Nothing was stolen but the car was searched.

The suspects got onto the property and then went up to the third floor flats where they forced open the security gate. They however unable to get into the flat itself and left.

The resident was away for the weekend and came home to find the back door to the house had been forced open. A laptop and camera had been stolen.

The resident went out for about an hour and came home to find that they had been burgled. The back door had been left slightly ajar and the suspects and broken the security gate to get inside. Two laptops were stolen.

The kitchen window was removed from its frame to gain access to the house. A laptop and cellphone were stolen. The theft was only discovered the next morning.

Vredehoek Avenue - Friday at 09:00
A resident was walking with his baby to the Garden Center. Two coloured men approached them and started walking along side them. They then drew a knife and scissors. They said they didn’t want to hurt them but just wanted some cash. The victim gave them the R150 in his wallet, they were not interested in his phone, wallet or even MacBook. They walked off the the resident was walking behind, the suspects them told him to stop and walk in the opposite direction so they would not be hurt.

A White Toyota Hilux with registration number CA 538 837 was stolen.

Yeoville Road - Monday at 04:30
Two brand new bicycles were stolen out of the garage. SAPS stopped a White Ford Lazer with registration CA 309 168 on Buitenkant Street and found the two bicycles in the car. One of the occupants of the vehicle was arrested but two managed to get away.

The resident was awoken by strange noises and disturbed a burglar trying to access the property. The suspect had been trying to pry open the burglar bars using a car jack. The suspect jumped over the front wall and ran away leaving the jack in place.

Aloe Street - Friday at 13:30
A man went onto a construction site at the end of Aloe, stole a drill and ran off. A radio holder saw him and radioed this in. Members quickly responded and the suspect was seen heading up the Wexford Road steps onto Chelmsford Road. He was monitored until SAPS could get there. He was positively identified as the suspect even though he had already removed his top shirt. He was out on parol after serving time for murder.

The bumper complete with the numberplate was stolen off a white Golf 1 with the registration number CA 233 838. A Nissan bakkie is believe to have been involved.

An attempt was made to steal a Mazda Sting. A screwdriver was jammed into the ignition.

Davenport Road - Wednesday between 00:00 & 06:00
The residents woke up to find that the window had been removed from the pane. The culprits got in and stole a laptop and camera.

Mugging

Gardenia Avenue - Tuesday at 21:10
A women arrived to visit a friend. As she got out of her car she was approached by two black men (one wearing a white t-shirt). The threatened her with a gun and appeared to be trying to car jack them as just kept on demanding their car keys. In the end they stole the cellphone and wallet. They then ran off towards Derry Street.
Reported to SAPS.

A suspect vehicle has possibly been identified from the LPR Cameras and the information has been forwarded to SAPS. DPVwatch patrollers were on the scene within seconds of the incident and these patrollers also witnessed the possible getaway vehicle.

The resident woke up and discovered that a Samsung TV and playstation had been stolen. Awaiting feedback on how entrance was gained.

Aandbloem Road - Sunday between 00:00 & 00:30
The resident went out to fetch family and when they came back discovered that their house at been broken into. A window had been forced open and jewellery had been stolen.

Deer Park Drive - Friday between 13:30 & 14:00
The car was parked at the entrance to Deer Park Drive and the occupants were sitting on the mountain near by. They returned to the car about 10 minutes later and the window had been smashed and a school bag containing IDs and work had been stolen.
