Peak Road - Thursday during the early morning
All the hubcaps were stolen off a car.
Reported to SAPS.

Attempted theft of vehicle

Pineoak Road - Wednesday during the day
Suspects tried to steal a VW Polo - the locks were tampered with.
Reported to SAPS.

Pinetree Crescent - Wednesday between 03:30 & 06:30
A second floor sliding door was left open overnight. Suspect(s) came in and stolen jewellery, watches, 2 Iphones and a laptop bag.
Reported to SAPS.

Peppertree Crescent - Wednesday between 00:00 & 06:00
A second floor window was left open over night. When the resident awoke they discovered an Ipad was missing.
Reported to SAPS.

Mugging

Davenport Road - Wednesday 08:20
A woman was walking towards Buitenkant road and was approached by a short coloured male who grabbed her bag and ran off. He jumped into a waiting red Toyota Taz with a CA Registration number and a spoiler on the back. The bag that was stolen contained study books, a camera, phone and purse

Sometime during the night a window was broken and a bag containing clothes was stolen.
Reported to SAPS.

Plantation Road - Monday between 00:00 & 06:00
Car was broken into and a laptop stolen.
Reported to SAPS.

Theft from property - ARREST

Capel Road - Sunday around 22:00
A neighbourhood watch patroller saw two men walking down the road carrying 4 garden chairs. She immediately called for assistance and SAPS and other members responded. The two men were arrested and the chairs impounded. The men were unable to tell SAPS where they got the chairs from but said that they had just finished work and their employer had given them the chairs - yet they could not show SAPS where they were working!
The next day the owner of the chairs reported them as stolen to SAPS.

Mugging

Yeoville Road - Friday between 11:00 & 11:30
An elderly woman returned home with her friend and parked their car. As she got out of the car she was approached by a smartly dressed coloured male who asked her for directions to Groote Schuur. He then ran to the passenger side where the friend was sitting and grabbed her neck and ripped off her gold necklace and appears to have punched her as well. He ran into a metallic blue car with registration containing 6113. Builders at a site on Ludlow said the car could have been a Corsa.

Chelmsford Road - Friday at 22:00
A women was walking across the road to her car when she was approached from behind by a coloured male who asked her for directions to Groote Schuur. He then grabbed her handbag and jumped into a silver/grey hatchback and sped off.

Mountain Close - Chelmsford Road - Friday between 00:00 & 06:00
The resident awoke in the morning to discover that the door was open but there was no forced entry. A flat screen TV had been stolen.
Reported to SAPS.

House Robbery

St James - Thursday 02:00
A man climbed in through an open window of a flat. He went to the woman who was sleeping and threatened her with a pair of scissors. He then stole a laptop and ran out of the front door.
Reported to SAPS.

Attempted mugging

Exner Road - Thursday at 17:15
A resident returned home from work and was sitting in her car when she noticed a black man sitting on the pavement. He got up walked next to the car and bent down as if he was doing up his shoe lace. But instead he threw a spark plug at the window but it did not shatter all the way as it had a smash & grab protection on it. He leaned in and tried to steal her handbag but she grabbed hold of it and screamed. He then ran up the road to Davenport and got into a what appeared to be a silver or white Corsa and sped off.

A car was broken into and a laptop, mac book and projector was stolen.

Anenome Road - Monday at 15:45
10W LED floodlight and 20 metres of twin and earth cable stolen by drilling from wall. The automatic light sensor was damaged.

Mugging

Van Ryneveld - Wednesday at 12:00
A couple were returning home and as they got onto their property they were approached by a short coloured male wearing all khaki clothing. He grabbed the woman’s handbag and tried to run off with it. The husband tried to stop him and a scuffle broke out. The husband was stabbed by a screwdriver in his shoulder and back. The suspect ran off towards De Waal Drive. A gardener from one of the neighboring houses tried to chase after him but he got away.

Clifford Avenue - Wednesday between 00:30 & 06:00
Residents woke up in the morning to find that somebody had used force to enter their house and steal computer equipment.
Reported to SAPS.

Peak Road - Tuesday at 17:30
A Black Vuka Scooter with registration CA 213 19 was stolen.

Mugging

Davenport Road - Tuesday at 15:45
A woman was dropped off by a Minibus taxi on the corner of Florida and Davenport and was walking towards her flat. A very short coloured male wearing a red vest, sunglasses and knee length baggy shorts ran up behind her, pushed her to the ground and stole her black backpack. It contained her phone and Macbook.
DPVwatch members searched the area minutes after it happened but the suspect was gone so we believe he had a waiting getaway vehicle.

Rocklands Ave - Monday between 00:00 & 06:00
The suspect bent the burglar bars back to gain access to the open window. Two laptops, two cameras and some cash was stolen.

Corner Ludlow & Buitenkant Street - Sunday between 14:30 & 15:30
A woman parked her car and but her backpack into the hatchback boot and went into a block of flats. When she returned the small side window had been smashed to gain access to the boot and the backpack stolen.

Suspects forced the door to the house open and stole electronic goods.

Corner Bradwell & Florida Roads - Tuesday 14:35
A woman was approached by a man outside her flat and he asked her for directions. He then threatened to shoot her if she did not give him her handbag. At no time did he show any sort of weapon. He took the handbag and ran up Florida Road.
Reported to SAPS.

Davenport Road - Between 08:00 & 17:45
The back door to the flat was forced open and a laptop, cellphone and camera was stolen.

Ludlow - Saturday between 04:00 & 04:15
The window was open and a suspect came into the house. The resident woke up and screamed and the suspect ran off. He had stolen a laptop, iPad, PSP and mouse

Rugley Road - Saturday between 00:30 & 05:30
Resident went to sleep and woke up to find the front door and window had been forced open. Three cellphones had been stolen.

Peppertree Crescent - Saturday between 00:00 & 06:00
The residents went to sleep and when they woke up the sliding door was open. The suspects had stolen their car and other small items. The car was subsequently recovered in Grabow and two men were arrested. SAPS investigations are continuing.
