Perpetrator/s gained access to an apartment on the first floor. Assumed to have entered via a window. Residents were home and asleep. No contact with the residents. Items taken included 3 laptops and car keys. The keys allowed the perpetrator/s to identify the associated vehicle which was parked on the street. The vehicle was also stolen.

Suspect fled scene when resident was alerted by noise and went to investigate. The front left indicator light had been removed and the two wires joined so as to disarm the alarm and central locking. The crook lock which was secured on the steering wheel was cut clean off (I suspect with a portable angle grinder). The ignition was wrecked and attempts made to disconnect the computer system below the glove compartment.
