Theft of vehicle - RECOVERED

Plantation Road - Friday afternoon
A motorcycle was stolen from outside the house. It was then discovered a road away hidden under some bushes. The wiring had been cut and damaged.

The car window was smashed and a CD wallet was stolen.

Florida Road - Tuesday during the night
Car was broken into and three pairs of shoes and a raincoat was stolen.

Upper Maynard - Monday between 09:30 & 12:30
The burglar bars at the back of the flat were bent open to allow access. Two digital cameras were stolen.

The owner got into his vehicle and realized that the ignition had been tampered with.

The back window of the car was smashed but there was nothing inside to steal.

Davenport - Saturday during the night
Access was gained to the flat via the lounge window. A bag of make-up, shoes, jewellery, hairdryer, a Samsung cellphone, laptop and computer were stolen.

Corner Van Rynveld & Aanbloem - Saturday at 09:00
A landrover was broken into and a handbag was stolen.

A garage was broken into and a compresssor, toilet set, and double sink were stolen.

Buitenkant Road - Thursday between 09:00 & 15:00
The car was broken into and a GPS was stolen.

Mugging

Upper Maynard - Thursday at 03:50
A women was driving down Upper Maynard and crashed into a parked car. She got onto her cellphone to call her flatmate and while she was calling she was approached by two black males who grabbed her cellphone and ran off.

Deer Park parking area - Wednesday afternoon
Car parked in the parking area of Deer Park and the laptop was on the backseat. When the owner returned the car had been broken into and the laptop stolen.

Clive Street - Monday 06:00
A man tried to break the lock of the outside gate next to the house. He was neatly dressed in cream jersey and pants; had a plastic bag with him and casually walked down street when lights went on.

Noordelik Avenue - Sunday at 07:00
A small window was pried open to gain entry into the house. The alarm went off and they fled from the property. They had also tried to open another more ecure door but were unsuccessful so proceeded to the small window. Evidence that they had been hanging around outside the property for a while. They got away by going through the properties behind on Belladonna and they also left behind a chisel there. The resident there say two black males running away.

The two light bulbs were stolen from the security light. This is the second time this has happened and is probably being used for Tik.

Suspects tried to access the house via the back and front doors. The resident woke up and must have disturbed them as they left.

The suspect smashed a car window and then ran off. DPVwatch members and CBAR responded to the call and a suspect was arrested.

Davenport Road - Thursday around 08:40
Petrol to the value of R1000 was siphoned from a Kombi, it had just been filled up the day before. The petrol pipe below the Kombi had been removed. It is thought this was happening when the owner of the Kombi got into go to work as a man appeared behind the Kombi out of nowhere.

Bedford Mews - Tuesday around 9am
An intruder broke into the downstairs area below the house via the rear entrance. They had broken the security gate and kicked the door in to gain access. They had ripped the alarm system off the wall and switched off the power to the building at the mains. Items stolen include 3 sets of headphones, a laptop and a cellphone.

Saddle Road - Tuesday at 18:30
There was an attempted theft of a Toyota Corolla. The suspects were disturbed and ran off. They were in a dark coloured car with tinted windows, a loud exhaust and with CFM license plates.

Corner of St James & Escombe - Tuesday just before 19:00
Suspects tried to steal a Toyota Conquest but were disturbed when a resident came out of his flat. The suspects fled the scene and DPVwatch members gave chase. The chase was called off due to the actions of the suspects in the vehicle. The vehicle was a Dark Green Opel Astra CFM 20328. This is the same vehicle from the Saddle Road incident

The canvass cover on the back of a bakkie was stolen.

Pinetree Crescent - Sunday during the night & before 4am Monday morning
A window to the property was opened during the night and the residents were sleeping. Small items including a cellphone and laptop were stolen.

Watsonia - Monday during the day
There have been two incidents at the property where somebody has jumped over the driveway wall and stolen items from the open garage. The black council bin was also stolen on two occasions.
Increased perimeter security is being put in place.

Vredehoek Avenue - Saturday at 14:30
The trellidor to the apartment located not eh balcony was kicked in. The suspects stole a cellphone, clothing and some DVDs.
Unsure if it was reported to SAPS at this stage.

Belladonna Road - Friday between 00:00 & 06:00
The resident parked his bakkie after returning from work as a DJ in the early hour of the morning. There was not sign of forced entry but items had been stolen from the bakkie. These include Samsung speakers, Apple Mac which was behind the seat and R30 000 cash from a bag also behind the seat.

Cnr Ludlow and Rugley Roads - Thursday at 16:00
Ayoung Male climbed 3 stories up onto the balcony of the house and entered via an open sliding door and took laptop off the counter. Resident arrived home and witnessed the thief, other resident was in his room. Resident chased thief and confronted two males with the laptop. He was threatened with a knife and they fled the scene with laptop.
The suspects were two black males in there early twenties. One male taller than the other, the shorter male has a gap in between teeth.

The suspect bent back the security bars on a rear window to the property. It is thought the resident disturbed the suspect when he came home. Nothing was stolen.

Pinetree Crescent - Thursday during the night
a small window approx 1.8 m off the ground was removed from its frame to gain access to the property. Wallets, a camera and shoes were stolen. The residents were home at the time of the incident, but upstairs asleep, and were not aware of the intrusion till the morning.

The main gate to the complex was left open and intruders gained access. The security gate to a flat was forced open and off the wall and a laptop was stolen.

A woman heard a noise and looked out to see two white males on a motorbike at a vehicle. They had broken a window and she saw one of them opening a door of the vehicle. Nothing was stolen.

Attempted theft out of vehicle - ARREST

Rocklands/Conduit Street - Sunday at around 19:30
The residents saw a man trying to open the door of a car parked outside their house. He then tried to break the window. They shouted at him to stop and he calmly walked off. This was reported on the radio network and SAPS and other members rushed their to assist. The suspect was found a few blocks away on Franks Street and he was arrested by SAPS.

Upper Mill STreet - Sunday around 21:30
Two women at home heard some noises and they went out to investigate. They saw a man on the balcony of their house. They shouted at him and he calmly left the scene. He was a heavy set young coloured male with a shaved head. He was wearing a black jacket and light coloured pants.

Windburg - Friday between 18:00 & 19:00
Residents were out for an hour at 18:00. During that time suspect/s forced open a small window to the basement and tried to kick in the burglar bars without success. A larger window on the side of the house was then pulled open and the burglar bars forced out. An Apple Macbook laptop, Blackberry phone and some cash was stolen.

Barnham Avenue - Friday in the afternoon
The suspects attempted to get in via the entrance door on the roadside but could not get it open. They the jumped over the wall and used a crowbar to open the front door. Two laptops were stolen.

A panel in the back door was removed and access gained. Nothing was stolen from the property.

Virginia Road - Thursday at 17:40
Women was walking down the road and was approached by two men who stole her cellphone. Awaiting full descriptions.

The kitchen window was forced open and a iPod, Torch and shoes were stolen.

Florida Road - Thursday during the day
A resident went to the shops during the day and on his return found his flat had been burgled. A laptop, hard drive and Blackberry were stolen. No signs of forced entry.
