Seymour Avenue - Friday, at about 23:30
Residents came back around 23:45 and noticed the burglar bars were broken. The bedroom faces the street and the window was left open. The intruders bent the burglar bars to get through. Possessions were scattered around the room. The neighbour downstairs had heard footsteps 10 minutes prior to being contacted and commented that the residents upstairs were being extra noisy compared to usual. A laptop, sports shoes, a jambox speaker by jawbone and a tiffany & co bracelet was stolen. They also cut into a suitcase with a knife and left the knife behind. The forensic services came over to take fingerprints but they had left only glove marks.

As the complainant approached her residence in her vehicle a coloured male pointed a fire arm at her and told her to get out of her vehicle. The suspect then took her vehicle, handbag and laptop. Silver Chevrolet Spark CA764*

Steel guttering on pavement stolen outside gate. A white Mazda bakkie with no canopy and two black male occupants was seen leaving the scene.

Just after the resident left for work, two black males gained entrance to the garden through the security gate and opened the door to the flat. There was still someone inside the flat which the men were not expecting and they fled.

The complainant was approached by two young men as he was approaching his gate. They attempted to rob him but he managed to run away.

Pinoak Road - Saturday, at about 22:45
Received an email at 22:30 that a Mazda 2 had been broken into in Peppertree Road and the suspect was seen running up onto the mountain carrying a bag. Members went to wait for the suspect at the bottom of the mountain on the path that runs past High Cape and leads onto De Waal Drive. The suspect was seen coming down the path with 2 bags on his back and carrying 2 plastic packets and a toy replica AK47. He was apprehended and then found to have goods stolen from the member’s vehicle parked in Pinoak Road. SAPS were called in on the radio, and the suspect has been arrested. The suspect was found to be wearing a jacket stolen from another vehicle on Tuesday.

The back window of a vehicle was broken and two jackets were stolen. The suspect was seen fleeing onto the mountain but members later arrested the suspect as he attempted to flee across De Waal Drive.

Two males and two females entered the school property and moved through the school going into a couple of classrooms and the reception area. A cellphone and a set of car keys was stolen.

A white Toyota Corolla parked in the street had its front passenger window broken, small car compartments and glove compartment opened, some broken, and the contents pulled out. It appears that only the car service and information manual was stolen.

Sometime between last night and this morning a car was broken in to. Parked behind a fence and closed gate in Peak Road. Items stolen: jack, wheel spanner, pliers, spanner set in red container, sizes 8 to 14 or 15, screw driver, a couple of knives and forks, floor rugs and 3D movie glasses. They also stole cash from the ashtray. Nothing was in sight, everything was put away.

At around 01:00 the neighbours dogs alerted us that something was amiss, but when I checked from my balcony I couldn’t see anything. This morning we discovered that an old broken black 4-wheeler was stolen during the night.

Two males pushed a complainant to the ground where they restrained him and then stole his iphone from his pocket. The suspects then fled in a waiting vehicle.

Attempted theft of motor vehicle - ARREST

Buitenkant Street - Wednesday, at about 22:37
An OHwatch member alerted us to a suspicious white Citi Golf that was driving around the Prince Street area. DPVwatch members went to go and assist. They spotted two males attempting to steal a Nissan Sentra in Flower Street. They fled the scene and between DPV and SAPS the two suspects and the driver of the getaway vehicle were apprehended and arrested. The Sentra had been hotwired and was ready to drive away.

A neighbour made contact with CBAR after seeing a male climbing over a wall to the property. CBAR arrived and apprehended the suspect, while neighbourhood watch arranged for SAPS to arrest the suspect.

A car window was broken and the boot of the car was emptied. Nothing of value was stolen, just some CDs and papers in shopping bags. The suspects ran through the Plantation across De Waal Drive as CDs and shopping bags from the boot of the car were found in the Plantation. The suspects dropped their beanie at the car.

Gardenia Avenue - Thursday, at about 19:30
Three young women were at the bus stop on Gardenia Avenue. Two men approached them and asked for directions, which they gave them. The men carried on up the road. Later, a scooter drove up to them with two men on matching the same clothing description as those that had asked for directions. The passenger at the back got off, he threatened them with a gun and stole all their cellphones and wallets.

A neighbour heard noises outside on the street and on investigating saw a white VW Golf bakkie, with lowered suspension and blue LED lights around the rear number plate leaving Plantation. A residents vehicle had its windscreen stolen.
