A vehicle that was broken into the previous night had it electronics damaged and so could not be locked. Unknown suspects entered the vehicle a second time and only stole R2, leaving behind an old cloth.

A suspect grabbed a Larmenier residents purse as she was walking down Derry Street. The suspect fled on foot and was caught in Kuyer Street, on the other side of De Waal Drive. He was still in possession of the stolen purse.

A suspect was attempting to break into a vehicle but was stopped and arrested by SAPS before he could gain entry.

Upper Buitengracht Street - Monday, at about 14:30
A resident was parked outside Hertex Fabric and sitting in her vehicle. She was aware of a car pulling up next to her and the drive went into the shop. A few seconds later the car door banged and when she looked up there was a man sitting in the car next to her. He rummaged through the back and front of the car before leaving the vehicle and getting into a metalic blue Hyundai i10.
The resident immediately alerted DPVwatch on her radio that there were remote jammers in the area and also proceeded to follow the vehicle. Other members arrived to assist. The vehicle tried to get away as SAPS arrived on the scene but both occupants were arrested. They are known remote jammers who have operated in the city previously.

A residents visitors vehicle was broken into and a crowbar was removed from the boot. An attempt was made to force open the residents gate using the tool but the resident pressed the panic button of her alarm thereby scaring the suspects away. The vehicles tool bag was left behind and it is not know what else was stolen from the vehicle.

When residents got to their car in the morning the doors were unlocked and the contents of the car had been disrupted. There was nothing in the car worth stealing so they left everything. The back seat was down to gain access to the boot and the cubby was open. The car has a steering lock that was in place. This is the second time this has happened.

Access was gained to a property through the back mountain facing perimeter fence while the residents were away. The suspects removed a window and stole a number of electronic items such as a 55 inch Samsung television, a laptop and two Nintendo consoles. The suspects were in the house a two different times according to the alarm activation’s.

Windburg Avenue - Friday, about 12:00
The complainant was getting into his car outside a home in Windburg Avenue when he was bumped heavily from behind and his bag taken without him even noticing. By the time he turned around the suspect was far down the road heading for Woodstock. A member of the public called the complainant to say that someone had thrown his ID book into his front garden in Woodstock.

A resident was walking home from Gardens Centre up Buitenkant Street carrying heavy bags of shopping. Two very young coloured kids stopped him and asked for money. One of them pulled up his sleeve and showed a very long kitchen knife. The resident shouted and caused a commotion and the kids ran away.
