Florida St - Monday at 02:00
The resident was followed home from Long street.
A male and a female suspect approached her and forced her to open her front door. Items stolen were a laptop, camera, cosmetics and sunglasses.

Plantation Road, Monday at 15:30
Suspect conned his way in past the domestic worker, stole a handbag and ran out of the house and into a dark green metallic BMW.
There were two black male suspects
The bag was black imitation leather with a zip and two side pockets. It contained a passport, wallet, phone, lipstick etc.

The kitchen window was forced open.

Escombe Road - Sunday between 00:0-06:00
The Front number plate discoverd stolen from a Silver Toyota Tazz Sport with registration number CA 145-392.
The back number plate was damaged, as was the paint on the car around the number plates.

Sunglasses and a bag were taken from a vehicle
No forced entry.

Intruder inside home/Trespassing

Chelsea Avenue - Saturday around 15:35
A person tried to gain entry to the property via the garage boundary wall but did not gain access because of the roof PIR alert.
Razor wire on the outer side of the wall was cut in several places. Large shoe marks were on the wall.
There was an immediate response from DPV patrollers, the SAPS patrol van and Lamenier Security.

Suspects gained entry to upstairs flat through the bathroom window.

Clifford St, 03:00
Suspects gained access by cutting through the Trellidoor’s 3 colomns with a bolt cutter, and then jimmied open the sliding door to the TV room. They stole a new, in the box PS3 and large lense Pro Camera and some other odds and ends. They then smashed the office door (Glass) with a rock and stole a laptop and other smaller electronic items from the office eg. Blackberry. The Resident awoke at the sound of the glass door being smashed and pressed her panic button, after which the suspects fled.

Three suspects broke into the property by smashing the glass door in with a manhole cover. They fled in a white VW Golf.
An undisclosed amount of cigaretess had been stolen.

Car window smashed and jacket was stolen. Laptop was in the boot overnight but luckily not taken.

Disa Park - Tuesday between 00:00 & 06:00
The creche at Disa Park was broken into - they smashed a window. They got into the safe and stolen money and a camera.

Theft of vehicle - ARREST

Uppermill Street - Saturday at 22:00
Patrollers noticed four men with helmets on acting very suspiciously. They sped off on 3 scooters under the bridge and onto De Waal Drive where SAPS was able to intercept and stop one of the scooters. The other two scooters doubled back and down into Zonnebloem to get away. Patrollers and SAPS tried to locate them but they had gone. It turned out that they had stolen a MotoMia motorcycle from Upper Mill Street. There were two suspects on the scooter that had been stopped and they were arrested. During the night the suspect in possession of the stolen scooter was brought to the police station by his father and he showed SAPS where he had dumped and hidden the scooter on Constitution Road.
Well done to all - suspects all arrested, property recovered!

Bellair Road - Saturday at 20:00
Robbers took off external lights (no broken glass), climbed over garden gate and tried to force open burglar bars of ground floor flat’s bathroom window (which was left open for cat) using a piece of timber they found in the garden. They did not manage to get into the bathroom. They then proceeded around the building to the other flat on ground floor, removed whole pane of glass (no broken glass) and forced open the trellidoor burglar bars using the same piece of timber. Electronics and jewellery stolen. There are signs that they used small bits of cardboard & firelighters to light their way.

The burglar bars to a window were forced open and a camera and macbook was stolen.

A Green VW Golf was stolen.

Mugging

Devils Peak at the Quarry (on the mountain) - Tuesday between 15:00 & 16:00
A camera crew had been doing a photoshoot on the mountain near the quarry. One of the photographers was away from the main group when he was passed by 3 coloured women and a coloured man. They walked past and then the one coloured man came back and threatened him with a knife and stole his bag which contained items such as his phone, wallet, license etc. The man was also stabbed in the exchange. The suspect was a short coloured male, no front teeth and wrap around sunglasses. They were driving a dark yellow Citi Golf with tinted windows and a red stripe down the side.
Not reported to SAPS.

Corner Plantation and Peak Roads - Tuesday between 02:00 & 07:00
Access was gained to a flat through a window that was left open. Wallets containing money, cards and permits were stolen.

St James Street - Monday between 18:00 & 19:40
The resident came home and saw that the gate was open and lights in the house were switched on. He contacted SAPS who came to check the property and saw it had been broken into. The suspects had stolen a laptop, TV, sunglasses and a camera. They also appear to have taken their time and smoked some cigarettes.

St James Street- Monday between 06:00 & 20:00
The resident arrived home to find her front door had been crowbarred open and was left wide open. It appears the suspects first attempted entry via the balcony door but were unsuccessful. The balcony door had been opened from the inside and was also left open.
They stole a Samsung 42” tv screen, Nikon camera equip. The TV cabinet drawers etc were open, but no dvds/cds/dvd player/hi-fi was taken. The study had been rummaged through and all the bedroom draws and cupboards had been emptied onto the floor. The lights were left on in the study.
Two incidents in the same block of flats.

Attempted theft of vehicle - ARREST

Upper Mill Street - Sunday at 05:30
An ADT security officer was driving on his way to work when he saw a man in a white Toyota Tazz and it was apparent that he was trying to steal it. The ADT officer executed a citizen’s arrest and the man was taken to the police station where he was officially charged

Suspects used a concrete drain cover from the road to smash the glass sliding door at the Spar. They got inside and stole cigarettes.
