Victim was approached by three teenagers dressed in school uniforms. They pulled him to the ground and took his cell phone which was in his pocket. They ran away, but were chased by two people in a bakkie, with other residents joining in the chase. All three suspects were caught in Virginia Avenue and the cell phone retrieved in on of their school back packs. They were handed over to the SAP, and a charge was laid.

Perpetrator climbed over electric fence and dodged beams and went onto roof, removed tiles behind chimney, destroyed alarm system and ADT radio and disconnected Wi-Fi. Entered home through small window and opened side door. All valuables stolen including jewelry, watches, laptops, tvs, children’s bikes and car, valuable clothing and shoes, Bose sound systems, bank cards, multiple attempts of cash withdrawals. Completely destroyed the house.

Suspects broke through ceiling of main bedroom’s en suite bathroom. Alarm system’s radio link wire to trigger armed response was deactivated, patrol car not sent (alarm likely went off).

Even though it was locked with a ‘Bin Lock’ suspect 1 tried to pry the wheelie bin open with force. Suspect 2 joined, who showed him how to tip over the bin completely to open the bin lock. All the trash was thrown in the street and littered all over the pavement.
