Suspects managed to climbed a tree over the electric fence and removed a window on the side to gain access to the house. They took a laptop and bag and fled when the alarm was triggered.

A resident apprehended a suspect as he was about to break into a vehicle. SAPS arrived at the scene within minutes to arrest the suspect.

Suspects entered the property from the mountain’s side, managing to bypass beams. They removed a glass pane and took cell phones, wallets and computers from inside the bedrooms where residents were sleeping.

The automatic garage door had been unhooked from the track and it was discovered that the daughter’s bicycle was missing. It is a “First Bike” kick bike. Suspects possibly climbed over the wall, forced open the garage door and took the bike. Nothing else was missing.

A Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen at around 20:00 from where it was parked in front of the gate to the property. The alarm did not go off and video footage indicate that the perpetrators were doing something under the car before stealing it.

The fence was jacked open and suspects managed to evade beams before they removed a glass pane from a study window. Suspects fled when the alarm was triggered, but managed to take two laptops.

The front door and gate were forced open, presumably with a crowbar to gain access. No-one at home (at work) so no contact with suspects. Double duvet, flat screen TV, CD-Radio, kettle, DVD Player, IPhone docking station, Microwave and two soft shell jackets taken.

The alarm of a VW Polo went off at around 4am. Upon inspection it was discovered that the large right back window (closest to pavement) was broken out and thrown next to the vehicle on the pavement.

Suspects gained entry into the vehicle by forcing a screw driver into the door lock and breaking. They then tried to start the car by forcing a screw driver or other item into the ignition and badly damaged the ignition.

A man attempted to break in at a flat, armed with a knife. He was chased by the owner and members of the public managed to apprehend and disarm him a few street blocks away. SAPS was at the scene within minutes.

Around 04:00 the main gate to a block of flats was lifted off the rails. Suspect(s) gained access and was also in the basement where cars are parked. Although there was no forced entry to any vehicle two car doors were left open. Drugs were found on the scene.

Victim was walking while listening to a podcast on her headphones. A man came up behind her and grabbed the wrist of the hand that was holding the phone. When she turned around he tried to take the phone and they struggled until he raised his hand above his head as if to hit her. She lost her grip on the phone and he fled with the phone.

The sound of two car windows breaking and a car alarm woke a resident. He saw a suspect exiting the neighbour’s car and getting into a getaway car that was idling next to it. They found that the windows of two other vehicles had also been smashed before the neighbour’s car alarm chased them off.

Two men entered the house while the resident was upstairs. They took items valued at R 11 000 and left. The resident only noticed them as they left the property.

Suspects got onto a balcony and forced burglar bars open to gain access into a flat. They took a television and Playstation.

Clifford Avenue - Wednesday, at 08:30
An intruder used a wheely bin to jump over a fence and walked around the perimeter of the house. He found a water pump on the pool deck and exited the property the same way he entered. The owner happened to check the alarm activation circuits at 09:00 and noticed unusual activity. He thereafter checked CCTV footage and confirm the trespassing and theft. The owner posted a picture of the intruder his DPV zone whatsapp group and it was forwarded to others. Another member spotted the man and posted to his WhatsApp group. His location was noted in Maynard Avenue. SAPS was called to arrest the suspect in possession of the stolen water pump.
