Three suspects, one with a knife, attempted to mug a pedestrian at the intersection where Upper Mill Street meets the skate park. The victim was assisted by construction workers.

Suspect seen tackling the victim and grabbing their necklace. Bystanders gave chase but were unable to catch the suspect. Suspect was subsequently apprehended and arrested.

A suspect approached women in Gladiolus Close park, through the library alley. They were mugged at knifepoint and the suspect fled on foot down Ixia via the Gladiolus/Freesia bus stop walkway.

The victim was attacked by a suspect while walking. Watchcom was notified and a patroller collected the victim and pursued the attacker. It is unknown whether the suspect managed to steal anything or if they had a weapon as there was no chance to speak to the victim.

Malicious Damage to Property – ARREST
Vredehoek Avenue – Sunday, 04:28
Armed Response’s monitoring centre received a call reporting a person had been heard screaming and banging on doors. It was reported by the response unit that this person claimed theft of a phone that has been tracked to one of the apartments. SAPS were informed and dispatched. On arrival of the SAPS, they were informed that damage had been done to the entrance door of the apartment block. A case was opened with SAPS and the involved person detained on charges.

House Break-in
Yeoville Road – Sunday, 00:18
Armed response’s monitoring centre received a call reporting that there had been a break-in at a premises. No alarm signals were received. On arrival, armed response reported entry was gained via the bedroom window as the burglar bars were removed. A DVD player, television, cutlery and a gold ring were taken. SAPS were in attendance.
