A man broke into a house by breaking a bathroom window. The resident who was home at the time and in her lounge, managed to lock herself in her room and tried to trigger the alarm, but she couldn’t set it with the man in the house. He stole her laptop and handbag and left. Her screams alerted the neighbours and a DPV member immediately called SAPS on the radio. They responded very quickly.

Two men gained access to the house from the mountain where they climber over razor wire. They climbed on the wall between two houses to avoid external beams. From here they opened an upstairs window. They pointed a firearm at the resident and took a laptop, bag, shoes, PC screen and phone.

Our Ford Ranger, which was locked and parked directly across from our house, was burgled during the night. We suspect this is an instance of jamming since there was no sign of forced entry. They stole the tool kit for replacing the spare tire, the dog hammock, the phone recharger and a hat. None of these items, except the hammock, were in sight.

Resident heard what sounded like someone pulling the wooden door that leads from the driveway outside room in an old garage into the main yard. He saw two men (average to shorter height, one with grey hoodie) seemingly trying to force the door or jump it. They did not get in and then moved off. Five minutes later a police van sped up the street and immediately thereafter he could hear someone running up the pavement directly outside.

Resident was walking towards St James from the Wexford MyCiti bus stop with a backpack and phone in hand. A young man coming from Escombe Street grabbed the phone out of her hand as he walked past. She tried to grab the phone back and was pushed to the ground. The man ran down St James (towards Derry Street) and got in the back of a old model, white Opel Astra. There were at least 3 other people in the car.
