A suspect was caught in the process of stealing out of a car. He tried to run away but was apprehended in Aandbloem Street after a chase by residents. He was held until the police arrived.

The perpetrator gained access to a house from the mountainside by forcing the kitchen window open. He entered the house and the alarm was activated. He then attempted to get into the ceiling, in so doing he managed to break the bathroom basin. He then fled the scene.

Two men with backpacks entered the grounds of a large apartment block complex bordering the mountainside. They broke into the laundry and tried to steal money from machines. Security staff responded and suspects fled onto mountainside leaving a crowbar and tools behind.

A coloured couple from Mitchells Plein were seen trying to open cars. They were chased and apprehended. Upon searching them SAPS uncovered a few sets of car Keys, a knife and assorted items thought to be used for breaking into cars.

Pinetree Crescent, Saturday, 13:30
Two black males dressed in blue overalls entered the property from Chelmsford Road and removed the timber planks/boards of a pergola which had been dismantled during building operations.
SAPS were alerted and the suspects were apprehended.

Attempted theft from Property - ARREST

Van Ryneveld Street Saturday. 14:15
Suspect entered front of property and tried to steal a bicycle from behind an interleading gate to side of house. Resident was in backyard and shouted. PVwatch member observing area saw suspect fleeing and radio’d in. Suspect was African male, in his 30s, about 1‘85m tall, wore yellow soccer T-shirt and white cap. He had an an accomplice, a shorter male, African, large scruffy grey jacket. Suspect was followed by DPV and promptly arrested by SAPS within minutes.

Windburg Road, Thursday, Overnight
Suspect(s) gained access to the top story flat by climbing up a drain pipe and forcing open the kitchen window. They stole a PS3, games, PS Vita, shoes, clothes, spare car key and an electric razor. They then found the front door keys and left through the front door. The keys were found stuck in the bottom gate the next day.

An intruder jumped over the wall and stole the washing off the line. The domestic worker saw him and pressed the panic button, after which the intruder fled.

Arum Street, Monday between 0.00 and 6.00
A resident did not lock her car the night before. When she returned to her car the next morning she found that her beach umbrella and all the change in her ashtray had been taken.

Delphinium Street, Friday between 15:00 and 16:00.
Bedding was stolen through an open bedroom window.
It is suspected that a long stick was used to hook the bedding so that it could be pulled through the burglar bars and out of the window.

Saddle Road - Saturday 17:40
A woman was walking towards her parked car when a silver VW Polo hatchback pulled up behind her. A short coloured male got out of the car with a fire arm. He was wearing a beanie and hid his firearm under his long sleeves. There were 4 or 5 coloured occupants in the vehicle. The man robbed her of her cell phone and handbag.
The handbag was a Chanel bag and contained an ID, passport, iPhone, purse, money and car keys.
Reported to SAPS.

Deer Park Drive - Friday at 04:00
Suspects smashed the window with a large rock and stole cigarettes and the the CCTV camera hard drive.
Vehicle suspected to be involved is a light blue Toyota Corolla, with orange-red mag wheels. Registration number CF 151 142
