Rocklands Avenue : 15h45 - Woman was alone at home at the time. Details of how entry was gained or who the suspect is are not known at this time, nor what he had wanted on the property. The victim was stabbed numerous times in the neck and hands. She had severe blood loss but managed to alert the tenants upstairs who called for an ambulance. All she was able to say was that it was a young coloured male.
The victim was in a life-threatening condition when taken to hospital. Doctors have been amazed at her progress and she is now critical but stable. We are keeping in close touch with the family and have and will continue to give them our full support.
It will be some time till the victim is able to give more information to the Police but we will continue to update this incident log should new information come to light.
