Anemone during the night. The thieves lifted the security sliding gate at entrance to property off it’s sliding rail, and disengaged it from the gate motor, and were thereby able to force the gate open to gain access. They did this despite a preventative bracket that prevents the gate being lifted - but the thieves had worked out that it was set too high. This has been subsequently adjusted.
They stole a mountain bike, and three prams. I suspect they intended to steal a very bulky rooftop tent too, as it had been moved. They ended up leaving that, but took the brackets that secure the tent it to the roof.
We were all at home and the security light on our driveway was activated. The southeaster was howling and we heard nothing.
