Cape Town is predicted to be #1 in South Africa again for “Robbery (common)” incidents due to the high volume of reports. The Buitenkant Street SAPS Station Commander, Brigadier Van Niekerk, and Commissioner Roberts are working on how to decrease this number.

In the last quarter, SAPS report that the positive arrests for the possession of dangerous weapons has helped to decrease the number of “Theft out of Motor Vehicle” incidents.

Vredehoek was the suburb most affected by residential burglaries in March, though the crimes were thought to be mostly opportunistic, as no specific street was targeted. Suspects gained access through open windows, and by forcing open house and garage doors.
