Our security partners have indicated that there have recently been a number of incidents involving wheelie bins in our area. Some tips to maintain safety and security  are:
- Mark bins with your address
- Track when your bins are stolen/missing.
- Be careful of any information left on items you throw away, such as personal details or even the type of medication (such as sleeping pills) on prescription boxes. These may be used by opportunists rummaging through bins.
- Be aware that bins left close to walls or gates can be used as ladders to gain entry into your property.
- Boxes which contained newly bought items such as home theatre systems, TV’s, computers, etc. can be indicators for break-in opportunities if not flattened or concealed.
