Car jacking

Upper Buitenkant Street - Friday, at about 23:10
A taxi picked up three passengers in Sea Point and was asked to take them to Disa Park. When they were on Buitenkant Street the passengers pulled a gun and knife out and told the driver to stop and get out. The driver tried to fight them off but they got into the vehicle and drove off. The incident was witnessed by a resident who chased after the vehicle whilst on a motorbike. They sped down St James knocking a few cars on the way. They then tried to get away and crashed into a tree on the corner of Aloe and Kreupelhout Avenue. The suspects fled on foot. Many DPVwatch members came to assist and search for the suspects but even though there were many sightings they managed to get away.
